A Headlamp Battery comes in two main types, Alkaline and Lithium. Alkaline batteries are less expensive and are safe to run in almost all headlamps. Lithium batteries are more expensive, last longer, work in much colder temperatures, have significantly longer shelf life than Alkaline, but should not be used in headlamps that are not Lithium battery approved.
